June is just around the corner, and Pokemon Go developer Niantic has revealed a variety of events it has lined up for the mobile game next month. These include the debut of another new Gen 5 Legendary, the return of the solstice event, and more.
In the meantime, Pokemon Go will be down for an extended period of time on Monday, June 1. Niantic is taking the game offline for approximately seven hours, from 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET to 6 PM PT /9 PM ET, to perform server maintenance. The game will be inaccessible during this time, so you won’t be able to log in and play until the maintenance concludes.
Immediately following Reshiram’s departure on June 16, its Pokemon White counterpart, Zekrom, will make its debut in Pokemon Go. The Legendary Pokemon will appear in five-star Raids for a limited time, giving you your first chance to catch one in the mobile game. Zekrom will also be the star of three Raid Hour events on the following dates:
- June 17 — 6-7 PM local time
- June 24 — 6-7 PM local time
- July 1 — 6-7 PM local time
Solstice Event And Bug Out
Pokemon Go’s solstice-themed event will return in the latter half of the month. The event will kick off at 8 AM local time on June 19 and run until 10 PM local time on June 24. A few days later, it’ll be followed by the bug-themed Bug Out, which will run from June 26 to July 1.
New Research Breakthrough Reward: Trapinch
As usual, a new month will also bring a new set of Field Research tasks to complete, along with a new Research Breakthrough reward. Throughout June 2020, you’ll have a chance to catch the Ant Pit Pokemon Trapinch each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough in June.
As part of the final batch of Throwback Challenges, a handful of Galarian Pokemon will make their debut in Pokemon Go. From June 3-8, you’ll be able to encounter Galarian Stunfisk in the wild and in Raids. You’ll also have a chance to hatch Galarian forms of Meowth, Zigzagoon, and Darumaka from 7 km eggs.
June 2020 Community Day
Pokemon Go’s next Community Day event is set for Saturday, June 20. As voted by fans, the featured Pokemon this time will be Bug/Poison type Weedle. Each Weedle that you evolve into Beedrill by the end of the Community Day will learn the event-exclusive move Drill Run.
