- On Monday, Motorola announced the Motorola One Fusion Plus.
- It features a pop-up 16MP selfie camera.
- It’s a decent buy compared to other cheap Android phones.
Motorola has just announced another phone with a pop-up selfie camera called the Motorola One Fusion Plus. Interestingly, most of the other Motorola devices come with the punch hole design. Even the flagship Motorola Edge Plus has it.
Motorola announced the Motorola One Fusion Plus phone on its website. It’ll be available in Europe for €300 later this month in Moonlight White and Twilight Blue. The company didn’t announce plans for US release just yet.
Motorola One Fusion Plus specs
The phone comes with a 6.5-inch display that will benefit from the lack of a selfie camera. It’s an IPS LCD screen with 1080p resolution and HDR10 support.
On the back of the phone sits a 64MP sensor that’ll do the heavy lifting for photography. There’s also an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
As for the internals, there’s a Snapdragon 730 powering the Motorola One Fusion Plus, as well as 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It comes with a microSD slot with support for up to 1TB of additional space. There’s a 5,000mAh battery providing the power to keep the phone running.
Motorola included a USB-C port with 15W fast charging. Additionally, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is always a nice find on a modern smartphone.
Comparable midrange phones
Motorola is offering pretty solid specs when compared to other phones in the midrange price point. For example, the Google Pixel 3a features a higher price by around $60, but it features a smaller screen at 5.6-inches. It also comes with Snapdragon 670, which is quite a bit older than the Snapdragon 730 in the new Motorola One Fusion Plus.
When put head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy A51, both devices feature 6.5-inch screens. However, the Samsung phone offers only 4GB of RAM compared to the 6GB offered by the Motorola. However, the Samsung device doubles the resolution of the front-facing camera with a 32MP sensor. The Samsung Galaxy A51 is cheaper, though, so that’s a point in Samsung’s favor.
In the end, the Motorola One Fusion Plus looks like a pretty solid buy for the price. It’s on par with other midrange phones on the market, and even better in some categories.
